Our editors – memoirs, novels, poetry, non-fiction books; articles, reports

Our diverse team of editors, who live in Bendigo,  Central Gippsland, Mornington and Melbourne, edits poetry, memoir, autobiography, family history, novels and short stories (fiction), non-fiction publications and reports.

We do structural (developmental) editing, copy editing and proofreading, as well as collaborative poetry editing and coaching in all genres including novels, academic writing and poetry. We edit manuscripts intended for publication, articles, policies, annual reports and other reports. We have edited a large number of books that have been published.

Our clients are very diverse, including writers with disabilities, neurodiverse writers, First Nations writers, writers for whom English is not their first language; small and large businesses; non-government organisations including First Nations organisations; and government departments.

All our editors are members of Institute of Professional Editors (IPEd).

We are experienced in:

  • editing for (and/or with) writers or storytellers who are neurodivergent or have visual or other disabilities, including NDIS participants,
  • editing for (and/or with) verbal storytellers, writers and poets who are First Nations peoples, People of Colour, LGBTQIA+, people with limited literacy, and people for whom English is not their first language,

Sally-Anne – owner/operator

Writer coach Sally-Anne

Sally-Anne Watson Kane: professional member and registered mentor with IPEd. 30 years’ experience in editing memoirs, histories, academic and poetry publications, and reports – structural and developmental editing, copy editing and proofreading. Specialises in consulting with clients to write/edit their life stories or poetry, and producing publications from handwritten and/or spoken and/or typed words, to printed self-published book stage. Extensive experience editing for people who are neurodivergent or have disabilities. Sally-Anne lives in Gippsland, VIC. Claire

Claire, editor

Claire McGregor: Accredited Editor and professional member of IPEd. Extensive experience in copy editing, structural editing and proofreading fiction and non-fiction publications. Holds a Diploma in Feature Writing (Honours). Advanced skills in InDesign and Word, and graphic design (publications). Has designed the inside pages of all the books, and also the covers of some of the books, that we have produced, listed at Our Publications. Claire lives in Melbourne, VIC.

Gail

Gail Wilson

Dr Gail Wison: professional member of IPEd. Experienced in editing for people who are neurodivergent and people with disabilities. Editing expertise: structural and developmental editing of memoir, historical fiction, academic writing, and corporate writing. Holds a Graduate Certificate of Editing and Electronic Publishing, Doctor of Philosophy, and Master of Arts (Education);  has presented at teaching and learning related conferences; and has edited and peer-reviewed many manuscripts for professional journals. Lives on the Gold Coast, Queensland.

Pete S

Pete Symons

Peter Symons: professional member of IPEd. Professional Historians Association, and Oral History Victoria.  Neurodivergent editor with expertise in copy editing academic publications (local histories) and PhDs, developmental editing (biographies, histories) and writing life stories (oral history-based). Experienced teacher and writing/self-editing coach. Holds a Master of Arts in Public History, Honours Degree in History, Diploma in Professional Writing and Editing, and Graduate Diploma of Education. Pete S lives in Melbourne, VIC.

Kyla-Jayne (KJ)

Holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature, Advanced Diploma in Creative Writing, and Diploma in Editing, Proofreading and Publishing;  currently studying a Diploma in Mental Health. KJ lives in Mornington Peninsula, VIC.

Deb Wain: Accredited Editor and professional member of IPEd. Experienced in editing with/for people who are neurodivergent and people with disabilities. Editing expertise: structural and developmental editing: academic writing, PhDs, articles, short stories, novels, and poetry. Experienced writing/self-editing coach; and co-editor of an academically affiliated literary journal. Deb lives in Central Victoria.

Writer coach Peter Loupelis

Peter Loupelis: associate member of IPEd. Neurodivergent editor with expertise in copy editing a range of genres including memoir, academic publications, PhDs, essay writing and other non-fiction writing. Experienced in editing for people who are neurodivergent or have disabilities. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Anthropology, Archaeology) and a Graduate Certificate in Neuro-Linguistic Programming.
