About “Among the Wildflowers” – poetry by Delia Tobin, Seamus Foley and Sally-Anne Watson Kane

This new self-published book is a collection of memoir-based poems by three poets: co-authors Delia Tobin, Seamus Foley and Sally-Anne Watson Kane.

Delia, Seamus and Sally-Anne acknowledge all First Nations people of Australia as the traditional owners of this land, and pay their respect to Gunaikurnai and Bunurong elders, past, present and emerging, of Gunaikurnai Country and Bunurong Country where they live, work and write poetry. Sally-Anne also pays respect to Dja Dja Wurrung elders, the traditional owners of Central Victoria, in whose Country she was born and raised and whose Country some of her poems are about.

Themes and landscapes in Ireland and South-eastern Victoria

Memoir-based poems by three poets about life, love, family and nature.

Themes include family history, identity, nature, love and grief, among the wildflowers and other landscapes of Ireland and South-Eastern Victoria.

Delia’s poems wander through poignant moments, experiences and landscapes on the coast and in the bush in the Mornington Peninsula, then back to her family in Ireland.

Seamus’s poems take us from the Ireland of his youth through to his experiences and observations of people and nature in East Gippsland and elsewhere in Victoria.

Sally-Anne’s poems journey through childhood, adolescence and family history in Central Victoria to the Latrobe Valley,  mountains, bushland and beaches of Gippsland.
