Work hours back to normal for our typists, editors and designers as of 27-28 January

Dog typing on a typewriter

Most of the typists, editors and graphic designers at On Time Typing, Editing and Proofreading (OTTEP) are parents or grandmothers who juggle our OTTEP tasks and projects with minding kids during the school holidays.

We manage this by working weekends and evenings, or working fewer hours during the holiday time.

As of tomorrow and Thursday (27 and 28 January) all of our school-age kids or grandkids are going back to school. That means our usual juggling act, as working parents and grandparents, will go back to normal.

Which is still pretty busy(it’s still  a constant challenge to fit our work in with our personal lives), but obviously when the kids are at school Monday to Friday, we do get more work done.

I’ve written a few articles about work-life balance; e.g. Nobody’s perfect.

For all of you working parents and other carers of school age children, I wish you a very productive, prosperous, balanced and healthy 2021.
