A big welcome to Maddy, our storytelling and writing coach

We are delighted to welcome Maddy Russell, our new writing coach.
Maddy lives in Melbourne. She brings a background in sociology and public health, along with a deep belief in the power of writing as creative expression. Her approach is shaped by both professional experience and personal life — growing up alongside a brother with Down syndrome and a sister who is neurodivergent has shown her the importance of environments that are inclusive, supportive, and open to creativity.
With our guidance and supervision, Maddy will be working with writers and storytellers to support them to explore, grow and strengthen their voices, focusing on:
- using writing to connect people and build community
- supporting writers as they grow confidence in writing their own words
- valuing lived experience as a source of insight and creativity.
With Maddy on our team, we have more writing coaches to offer to our NDIS participant clients who need support to get their voices down onto the page, and improve their ability to communicate in writing and verbally.
