Privacy Act now applies to On Time Typing
The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) has very promptly replied to my application for On Time Typing to be treated as an organisation for the purposes of the Privacy Act. Below is an excerpt from OAIC’s reply:
“… We are satisfied that your business has chosen to be treated as an organisation in accordance with s 6EA(2) of the Act, and will be including your details in the Opt-In Register under s 6EA(3) of the Act. Coverage is effective from the date upon which your business name has been added to the opt-in register on the OAIC’s website, being 25 January 2016…
“The OAIC appreciates your commitment to protecting individuals’ privacy. Thank you for adopting the Australian Privacy Principles as your standard when handling personal information.”
