Welcoming our newest typist, Fin (he/they), to the team

Fin, our newest typist

We are rapt to introduce to you the newest typist/scribe on our small team of contractors: Fin Elwyn-Fey (he/they).

Fin is a VCE/TAFE student who identifies as LGBTQI+ and gender diverse, and lives in Moe, Victoria. They underwent work experience and training in typing, scribing and editing with On Time Typing, Editing and Proofreading in 2023, which is when we discovered their lightning-fingers typing and eye for detail.

Fin’s achievements and awards include an Honours in English Literature (VCE) and English (Year 11), and Certificate II in Community Services including: a) working with diverse people, and b) Promoting Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander cultural safety.

Fin’s areas of expertise in the work they will be doing for us are:

  • scribing as you speak (100 plus words per minute),
  • accurate dictation skills (including editing the copy)
  • accurate copy typing
  • potentially, supervised editing/further training in editing

Welcome to the team, Fin! We look forward to working with you over the coming months and years.

Fin joins our two other Gippsland-based typists and scribes: Lyn in East Gippsland, and  Sally-Anne who (like Fin) lives in Moe.
