Google test for website speed

Thank you, Sensis Yellow Newsletter, for providing me with this link to Google’s speed-test, where you can check how fast your website is in comparison with other sites. Speed is important because:

• people expect to wait no longer than 2 seconds for a web-page to download, and if that doesn’t happen they may click away, and
• Google ranks websites with faster speeds higher than websites with slower speeds because fast-speed websites give the end user a better experience.

Thanks to my fantastic website designer, Darwin Web Design, my nifty little website On Time Typing ranks very well in the speed stakes. Sure, all websites are a work in progress but at least I know I’ve got the speed-issue sorted.
