Through my window – a life story by Shirley Crutchfield

Shirley Crutchfield always wanted to write a book, to share her story. And here it is.

What is this book about?

Shirley Crutchfield has had plenty of joys in her lifetime and she is the first to say she feels blessed with the amazing opportunities she has been given. But it hasn’t always been easy.

Gazing through the window of time, Shirl tells us about her childhood and teen years in Melbourne, then her swift transition into marriage and life as a dairy farmer in Gippsland. She takes us on her journey through the good, the bad and the ugly of life on the farm and being a wife and working mother.

Through her window, we watch as Shirl’s world falls apart then, with support, slowly find her identity as a wife, mother, divorcee, committed Christian, community worker, world traveller, grandmother and great-grandmother – and as an independent person.

This life story is a labour of love, grief, healing and joy, from Shirl to you.

Shirl’s message is: live your life to the full. Never give up or give in. If you are suffering, seek help. And if you are able, help other people who need it.
