Changes to NDIS requirements that may affect writers with disabilities

Some of our previous and current clients are writers with disabilities who have used their NDIS funds to pay for their self-publishing services. Those services include coaching in writing and self-editing, copy editing, graphic design and printing their self-published books,.

NDIS has recently (Dec 2020) made some changes to its requirements and processes, which appear to make it more difficult for writers with disabilities to use their NDIS funds to help them meet their writing and self-publishing goals.

As these changes directly affect our clients’ ability to pay for our coaching, editing and self-publishing services, we are currently looking into the matter to see whether, under the new model, they can continue to use their NDIS funds to pay for those services, and the process that now needs to be followed.

We will keep you updated on this matter.
