Sally-Anne Watson Kane has interpreted Tetun to English, and English to Tetun, on many occasions and with the assistance of her Timorese friends, continues to develop her skills in spoken and written Tetun. She is experienced in scribing in Tetun and in English; working with Tetun-speakers to edit publications in Tetun; and translating English publications into Tetun and Tetun publications into English.

  1. Tais Don, 2015; spoken in Tetun by Veronica Pereira, master weaver, regarding the special woven panels (tais) she exhibited in Darwin in 2014. Sally-Anne Watson Kane scribed and edited the article in Tetun; then translated it into English and edited the English translation. Bilingual article published (in English and Tetun).
  2. Buibere: Lian Feto Timor Lorosa'e Nianvol. 2, 2001 (in the Tetun language); compiled by Sally-Anne Watson [Kane]. ISBN 0_646_41719_3. Published by Fokupers, Timor Leste. Funded by USAID-OTI, Fokupers and Australian Volunteers International. Some sections translated from original Buibere (English) publication into Tetun, some sections scribed on-site in Tetun. Publications coordinator Sally-Anne compiled and edited this publication in the Tetun language with the assistance of Timorese translators.

Funded by The HIVOS Foundation. Publications Coordinator Sally-Anne Watson Kane, who recorded testimonies in Tetun and Portuguese; worked closely with Timorese translators in Timor Leste and Darwin, Australia, to scribe their translation of the testimonies into English; and worked closely with Timorese translators and Australians to edit this English-language publication. Sally-Anne Watson coordinated the translation, editing, graphic design, printing and distribution of this volume of oral histories by 22 East Timorese women which was launched a few weeks prior to the East Timor Referendum in September 1999.
  4. East Timor Interviews Recorded November 1998, 2001; edited and compiled by Sally-Anne Watson [Kane] (as pseudonym 'Rebecca Winters'). Published by ETISC. Sally-Anne recorded 11 interviews in Tetun and Portuguese; worked closely with Timorese translators to scribe their translations of the testimonies into English; and edited this  English language publication. Note: introduction by Bishop Don Basilio De Nascimento (Bishop Belo) whom was later awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

Sally-Anne Watson Kane recorded interviews and her experiences over one month travelling in East Timor in 1996, then scribed, wrote, compiled and edited this collection of creative non-fiction articles which she based on her experiences in East Timor.

Sally-Anne Watson Kane has recently (in 2017) edited or proofread the following publications which are still underway: proofread a non-fiction academic text about Indigenous Education pathways (not yet published); typed/edited a manuscript about Indigenous native plants of Central Australia (not yet revised by client). Over the years, Sally-Anne has:
