If your recording involves people with strong accents, we will still be able to produce a high quality transcript as long as the audibility is reasonably good, and we have a good track record in doing this.
We regularly transcribe recordings involving speakers for whom English is not their first language. Those speakers include people of a wide range of ethnic backgrounds and languages
We are experienced in transcribing recordings involving speakers with different accents including Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians, from remote areas in Northern Territory, Queensland and Western Australia
We are experienced in transcribing recordings involving speakers with different accents including people from Timor Leste, Indonesia, Philippines, China, Japan, Korea, India, Pakistan, Portugal, Canada, United States of America, United Kingdom, and various countries in Africa, Europe and Scandinavia
If the speaker's accent is not very strong, or is an accent in which we specialise, we do not charge any extra to transcribe those recordings.
If the recording takes us longer than usual to transcribe because of the strong accents (e.g. the accent is very strong and an unusual one we are not used to, such as Russian) or because the person is speaking in a mixture of their own language and English, we will advise you of the extra charge for the transcript. This will be similar to our usual extra charge for transcribing recordings of poor audio quality.
We guarantee that Proofread Transcripts of recordings involving strong accents will be as accurate as possible, given the accents involved and audibility issues.
